Location and notification permissions
Why “Always allow” background location?
During an active journey, background location lets SafarSang continue watching progress when the app is not visible or the phone is locked. Without it, the app must clearly show that full journey protection is unavailable.
I denied permission
Open your phone’s Settings, find SafarSang, then enable precise location and the requested background option. Enable notifications so check-ins and Trusted Circle alerts can appear. Device wording varies by Android version and manufacturer.
Journeys, check-ins, and arrival
Choose a destination and travel mode, then explicitly start protection. Only one journey should be active. Check-in prompts give you an opportunity to confirm you are okay. Complete or cancel the journey when finished.
Mixed transport and unexpected changes can affect estimates. SafarSang supports journey monitoring; it does not provide turn-by-turn navigation.
Weak network and offline behaviour
Eligible events are queued in an on-device journal and synchronized when the network returns. Remote alerts and fresh location context may be delayed while the phone is disconnected, off, out of battery, or prevented from running in the background.
Trusted Circle and notifications
Circle members need SafarSang installed, must join the circle, sign in, and enable notifications. When a configured alert occurs, a member may see the relevant journey and latest available location. Always check the “updated” time; last-known is not necessarily live.
Account access
If sign-in fails after the browser step, reopen SafarSang and retry on a stable connection. You can pause your account from Profile and resume by signing in. For permanent deletion, follow the deletion guide.
Privacy
SafarSang is designed for user-started active journeys, not all-day passive tracking. Read the complete Privacy Policy for data categories, purposes, sharing, retention, and choices.
